Our journey has been one laden with obstacles and the position we have now secured as a leader in transportation technology has only increased our responsibility towards building sustainable communities and contributing in the economic development of our country.
So, on November 25, 2017, in the small village of Nagarajapuram, Coimbatore, NDOT started its first steps in initiating a conscious Corporate Social Responsibility program. The soul of real India lives in its villages, and our Rural Development Program was envisioned by our CEO, Mr.Nandakumar, to empower and nurture the backbone of our country.
The day began with a group of enthusiastic volunteers headed by our CEO who travelled to the village to clean up the streets and the locality of the village.
At the inaugural event and in the presence of Mr.Kaverikumar (Vice President of Nagarajapuram Village) and Dr. Jenic Osborn (Assistant Professor of the PSG Rural Health Training Centre, Vedapatti), our CEO offered scholarships amount of Rs.5000 to five differently-abled students, wanting to contribute, in a small way, to build a brighter future for these children.
Throughout the day, masked, friendly faces picked up trash, swept the roads and cleaned the drains. We continued the day’s activities by educating the residents of Nagarajapuram the importance of cleanliness and also explaining how they could implement a few simple yet useful steps that would help in maintaining a healthy environment for the benefit of their own.
NDOT’s commitment is to make a long-term difference in the society, and this has just been the first step in our long journey. We hope to continue our efforts in developing better living standards and overall improvement of the surroundings we live in.
